World Zionist Congress Elections

Dear Temple Beth David,

We have been presented with the opportunity to make our voices heard in determining the future of Israel.

The World Zionist Congress (WZC) serves as the democratic cornerstone for Israel and global Jewry, akin to a "Parliament of the Jewish People," convening every five years. Rooted in the pre-state vision, it embodies collective aspirations for safety, realization, and values. The WZC election empowers voices shaping Israeli society. The Congress oversees key institutions in Israel encompassing land, welfare, and identity.

The World Zionist Congress is an important, institutional way for Reform voices and Reform values to have a real and impactful say in how Israel spends its money and treats its people. It is a right and a responsibility for Diaspora Jews to vote in this election. You can learn more about the Reform Platform and sign up for reminders to vote beginning March 10th thru May 4th, 2025.

If you voted in the last election in 2020 you should know that your efforts increased funding of Reform and other progressive communities in Israel, and enabled ARZA to join with Israeli political parties to influence Israeli society in matters of conversion, marriage and divorce, religious pluralism, gender rights, and combating racism.

Participating in the World Zionist Congress elections is an essential way that American Jews can democratically weigh in on issues important to us in Israel. Diaspora voting will determine how  $1 billion dollars in annual funds will be allocated in each of the next 5 years  in Israel.

A few moments of our time makes a big difference in envisioning an Israel that matches our values.

I hope to see you at services at 7:00pm tonight and 10:00am tomorrow morning, when Larry Levine will be playing guitar.  Shabbat Shalom, and may the end of our festival of Pesach be a joyous one for you.
