Beginning Hebrew For Adults
Do you ever struggle to keep up during services? Would you like to get your Hebrew reading proficiency up to speed? This class is for you!
Beginning Wednesday, November 7, 2011 from 1:30-2:30 PM we will meet weekly for 6 weeks at TBD.
Intermediate Hebrew: Getting the most out of prayer
This class is perfect for getting your Hebrew reading speed up and understanding more of what you are reading while you are praying. We will even begin to explore Bibilical Hebrew and learn to translate some passages of Torah.
Beginning Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 7:30-8:15 PM we will meet weekly for 6 weeks.
Torah Trope For Beginners: Learn to chant Torah
This class will focus on learning the ta'ameh mikrah, the Torah trope symbols and sounds so Torah can be chanted. Participants will have the opportunity to learn a short Torah portion to chant during Shabbat services in the coming months. The skills learned in the class will also allow participants to act as Gabbai, the person who helps the Torah reader during the Torah service.
This class will go hand-in-hand with the Intermediate Hebrew class and will meet directly after that class on Tuesdays from 8:15-9:00 PM. Although Intermediate Hebrew is not a prerequisite for this class, a Hebrew reading background is necessary.
